Adeline Fingerless Mitts or Arm Warmers, Easy Crochet Pattern with Faux Cables ( Free Pattern)

Fingerless Mitts, a Slouchie Beanie and a Cowl, make fashion statements like none other. They are the perfect combination of style and comfort. Now make your own pair of fashionable mitts with this fun to work crochet pattern embellished with  faux cables.

I wanted to design a fingerless mitts crochet pattern with cables that are suitable for beginners as well. So I came up with this faux cable idea that anyone with basic crochet skils can easily work. Unlike the regular cables that use front post stitches, the cables on these mittens use the basic chain stitch to evoke the same effect.  A pair of these can be worked in  about two hours and believe me I am not a fast crocheter at all. I have seen knitters and crocheters who can do it while watching TV but I still have to stare at each of my stitches to get it right. My seven year old little girl who recently started crocheting has beat me at it and when I tell her to take a break as it could strain her eyes, she  closes her eyes and continues.

The Crochet  pattern uses worsted weight yarn and a size H (5mm) crochet hook.  Pattern is written in Standard American Terms and is made to fit an average woman's hand.

Polka Dot Beanie Crochet Hat Pattern, Newborn to Woman

I have always loved Polka Dot fabric and this hat pattern is my crochet version of it. Does polka dot hold its own charm or does the attraction lie in the fact that we subconsciously associate it with Minnie Mouse? It is surprising how a brand name can become so larger than life that it takes the place of the actual object itself. Now that I have seen the connection, I would definitely be making a few in darker color combinations. I had always wanted to try my Bella Ruffled bag in Fuchsia but never found the time. Now, if there were more hours in a day……….

This hat has been a joy to make and gave me the Eureka moment for cracking down how to work a polka dot pattern in crochet. The pattern uses bobbles and Spike Sc and can be classified as advanced beginner. Since the pattern describes with pictures how to work a bobble as well a a spike sc it should be easy for beginner level crocheters too. Please note that a bobble is not a popcorn and is far easier to work though they both look quite similar.

The crochet pattern includes sizes newborn to woman. It is written in Standard American Terms and worked using an H (5mm) hook. The pattern for making the pom poms are also included. It is worked using Worsted weight yarn ( size 4 medium) also know as "Aran" in UK.
