Fall Beanie with Flower, Crochet Pattern (all sizes from newborn to adult)

I  had  got several requests for hat patterns last winter but never really got the time to design anything other than booties. My dream is to ultimately have all types of patterns for babies, be it booties, hats ,dresses, bibs or blankets. This is one  more step in that direction and I had to try really hard to step out of my comfort zone of designing and photographing booties. I figured that photographing  dark colors like brown can be as tricky as white but believe me if you ask me my favorite among the two above, the brown one wins hands down. The picture fails to capture its real beauty. This beanie has a nice lacy texture with the gaps kept small. It should be perfect for the  not so cold weather. The pattern comes in all sizes from newborn to adult. So you can make it for all the girls and ladies in your family! It works up really quick and is suited for all levels of expertise. The ruffly nature of the flower makes it stand out even with a single layer of petals.

Pattern uses Hooks G ( 4.25mm) for size 6-12 months and Hook H (5mm) for all the other sizes . It is written in standard American terms. Pattern includes all sizes from newborn to adult. Hat is worked using Wortsed weight/ Aran (Size 4 Medium) yarn. Stitches used are single crochet, half double crochet,  double crochet and slip stitch. If you are making it for your baby, make a matching  pair of boots with my "Boots for Girls" pattern found here:

Boo Halloween Witch Basket ( Free PDF Crochet Pattern)

The Handle

Halloween is around the corner and I wanted to crochet something fun . So here is my "Boo Witch Basket" for your kiddos! My little one wanted a regular pumpkin one as she thought a witch would be too spooky but needless to say she fell in love with it once it was completed  and can't wait to show it  off to her friends. I really enjoyed putting together this weird project too. I am especially proud of her grin. The pattern turned out to be longer than I thought with so many facial features but was well worth the effort. The smile on my little girl's face said it all!

I used two strands of worsted weight/ Aran ( size 4 medium) yarn for the sides of the basket and I made it wide to hold more candy for trick or treating rather than keeping it compact like my Easter  bunny basket. There is a cardboard hidden in the hat to make it stand up. You can run a satin ribbon through the handle and sew it down together to prevent the handle from stretching. You can even convert this pattern into a jack-o-lantern by following the pattern to make the basket in orange and sticking on some black felt for the features. As simple as that! I hope you all will enjoy making this!

Trekkers Crochet Pattern, AllfreeCrochet Stitch and Share Entry

Aren't  cute boy patterns hard to find? When I designed the flip flops for girls last summer there were some blog readers who asked me if I would make one for the boys. Some readers even went ahead and made the girl's flip flop design in boy colors like blue and brown to suit a boy while others thought the design was very girly with its bumpy strap. So this summer, I decided to make a boy version for my flip flops design. The shoe looks like  flip flops at the toe side and a sandal at the back. I also designed a boy's sun hat pattern to go with it.

This pattern is fun to make and very sporty. So I decided to enter it for the Allfreecrochet Stitch and Share competition. Hope you all like it.
